Duffel Pro Movo 90

The Deuter Duffel Pro Movo 90 is the big bag for trips where the gear comes too: rolling through an airport, then on your back up a gravel track to the lodge. 90 litres, hard-wearing TPU-coated fabric, wheels when the ground is flat and shoulder straps when it is not.

Who it's for

Expedition and adventure travellers, families heading away for a month, and anyone flying with bulky outdoor kit: a ski trip to Japan, a dive holiday, or a road trip with camping gear. Deuter rate it five out of five for travel, and the recommended 10-20 kg load is a full checked-bag allowance.

Capacity and what fits

90 litres swallows ski or snowboard boots, a helmet and outerwear, or two weeks of clothes and shoes for two, or a tent, sleeping bags and cooking kit. The bag measures 86 x 43 x 35 cm, so check your airline's checked-bag limits before you fly.

Wheels, chassis and carrying

Two tough silent-glide wheels sit on a stable base with reinforced edges, and they are replaceable, so one broken wheel does not end the bag's life. An extendable luggage handle stows away when you do not need it. When the path turns to cobblestones, sand or a gravel road, pull out the stowable shoulder straps and wear it like a backpack on the Contact back system, which fits back lengths of 38-54 cm. Clip the straps together and they become a carry handle, and padded grab handles help you lift it onto a carousel or roof rack.

Organisation inside

A round arch zip opens the whole front, so the bag lies flat like a suitcase and nothing gets buried. Internal compression straps hold clothes in place, an inner zipped compartment and an inner mesh pocket keep small items separate, and a zipped pocket on top holds documents and chargers. The main zip has a padlock anchor point for checked baggage.

Durability and weight

The body is 600D polyester with a TPU coating, a hard-wearing, water-repellent tarpaulin-style fabric that shrugs off dirt, wet tarmac and luggage handlers. Empty, the bag weighs 3800 g: the wheels, base, handle and harness add weight over a soft duffel, and they are what let you move 20 kg without lifting it.

Looking after it

If a wheel wears out, replace it. The bag is bluepass and Green Button certified, with a finish made without intentionally added PFAS, and Deuter back it with a 2-year warranty.
