Frequently Asked Questions
The Nemo Moonlite Elite, our lightest hiking chair at about 500 g. It packs to 32 x 8 x 10 cm, small enough to slide down the side of a hiking pack, and it still reclines. It holds up to 113 kg and suits firm ground better than deep sand.
The Nemo Moonlite is rated to 136 kg (300 lb) and the Moonlite Elite to 113 kg (250 lb). Reclining puts more load through a chair than sitting upright, so Nemo uses oversized frame tubes and forged aluminium hubs on the Moonlite.
The Satellite and the Stargaze. The Satellite's carry case unfolds into a platform under the legs to stop them sinking. The Stargaze sits low, with a wide stance, which keeps it stable on beaches and rough ground. The lighter Moonlite Elite is better on firm surfaces.
Not at the moment. Our current range is the four Nemo reclining chairs above, from the 500 g Moonlite Elite to the high-back Satellite and Stargaze. For the camp kitchen, see our camp stoves and cookware, plus Sea to Summit tableware and cutlery.
How to choose a camp chair

• In a pack: weight and packed size matter most. The Moonlite Elite is about 500 g and packs to 32 x 8 x 10 cm.
• From the car: take the comfort. The Satellite and Stargaze give you a high back and a headrest.
Then check the capacity: Moonlite holds 136 kg, Moonlite Elite 113 kg. Check the ground too: sand and soft grass need a wider footprint or a low centre of gravity.
Our camping chairs
• Nemo Moonlite Elite: our lightweight camping chair and hiking chair, an ultralight recliner at about 500 g, 46 x 48 x 59 cm set up. Best on firm ground, tent platforms and camp kitchens.
• Nemo Moonlite: packs to 35 x 10 x 35 cm. A pulley in the armrest straps sets the recline. The mesh seat sits on ball-and-socket connectors that line up with your body. Holds 136 kg.
• Nemo Satellite: high back with a floating padded headrest, recline adjusted from the armrests, mesh seat and a cupholder. The carry case unfolds into a platform under the legs for sand.
• Nemo Stargaze: a swinging, hammock-like seat that auto-reclines as you lean back. Its low centre of gravity keeps it stable on sand and rocky ground. Padded headrest, side pouches.
Nemo's Helio pressure showers sit alongside the chairs in Nemo camp furniture.
Camp chairs for Australian conditions
A beach afternoon at Burleigh or a riverbank camp is soft ground. The Satellite's platform sling or the Stargaze's low stance stop the legs sinking.
On a humid Queensland afternoon, a mesh seat breathes where a solid fabric chair won't.
Rinse salt and sand off the aluminium hubs after a beach day, and let the chair dry before you pack it away.
