Avalanche probes are a must-have for any snowboarder, skier, or backcountry hiker.

When heavy snow shifts and causes an avalanche, it can be incredibly difficult to avoid. Snow moves quickly, and before you know it, you or one of your party could become partly buried, or fully submerged beneath the snow. Avalanche probes allow you to quickly and safely locate someone trapped beneath the snow. They are extendable, lightweight poles that come in a range of lengths. 

We stock an extensive range of avalanche probes, in a range of sizes. Both Mammut and Ortovox probes are incredibly durable, sport easy-to-use PFA/speed lock systems, and include clear depth markers, delivering a more accurate measurement of how deep you must dig. 

The Ortovox Steel 320+ allows you to probe more than 320 cm below the surface, and further with a carbon avalanche probe extension .
