Description
Gear Aid Tenacious Tape Mesh Patches are two 7.6 cm round peel-and-stick repair patches for fixing holes in insect mesh. Each one is a disc of mosquito netting held by a clear Tenacious Tape ring, so you can close a rip in a tent door, bug net or mesh pocket in seconds, with no sewing or heat, and air still flows through.
What it fixes
A hole in the inner mesh is the difference between a good night's sleep and a night swatting mozzies on the Bibbulmun or in a Kakadu campground. These patches close small rips and holes in:
- tent inner doors and mesh walls, including fine no-see-um mesh
- bug net shelters
- mesh storage pockets on packs and totes
Because the centre of each patch is netting, the repair keeps the airflow you bought a mesh inner for. They are made for mesh: for a torn fly, tent floor or jacket, reach for a Tenacious Tape fabric patch instead, and a long split along a seam or zip needs more than a 7.6 cm circle.
How to use it
- Lay the mesh flat and brush off any sand, dirt or moisture around the hole.
- Centre the mesh patch over the tear.
- Peel the backing from the clear Tenacious Tape ring and press it down onto the mesh all the way round.
- Smooth from the centre out so there are no wrinkles at the edge.
That is it: no needle, no glue to dry, no iron. It works as well at the campsite as it does at home.
What is in the pack
- Patches: two, pre-cut, 7.6 cm (3 inch) round.
- Mesh: mosquito netting.
- Tape ring: clear PVC Tenacious Tape, peel-and-stick.
Looking after it
The pack is light and flat enough to live in your tent bag or repair kit, so the patches are with you on the night you need them. Keep them in their packet until use so the adhesive stays clean.
