XTM Takayna Women's Packable Waterproof Rain Jacket
Description
Description
The XTM Takayna Women's is a packable 2.5-layer rain shell made from 100% recycled materials, with a HydroVENT20+ waterproof shell, a 20K breathability rating and a PFAS-free DWR. It packs into its own front pocket, is fully seam sealed, and all profits fund the Bob Brown Foundation's campaign to protect takayna/Tarkine in north-west Tasmania.
Who it's for
A jacket to carry rather than a jacket to wear all day. Packed into its own pocket it lives in a bag and comes out when the weather turns.
Waterproofing and breathability
XTM rates the shell HydroVENT20+ for waterproofing with a 20K breathability rating. The waterproof figure is about keeping rain out; the breathability figure is what stops you getting as wet from the inside as the outside on a climb. The seams are fully sealed, and a double storm flap covers the main zip.
Fit and layering
A lightweight rain shell with a fully adjustable hood. Sizes run 8 to 18 in Brick, Slate Blue and Granite.
Fabric and construction
- Packs into its own front pocket, so there is no separate stuff sack to lose.
- Fully adjustable hood that can be cinched down rather than blowing off in wind.
- Double storm flap over the main zip.
- PFAS-free DWR finish - the beading treatment, made without fluorinated chemicals.
- 100% recycled materials, 2.5-layer construction, and certified carbon neutral.
Where the money goes
All XTM profits from the Takayna jacket go to the Bob Brown Foundation's campaign to protect the takayna/Tarkine in north-west Tasmania - over 450,000 hectares holding Australia's largest remaining cool-temperate rainforest.
