Description
XTM Performance Phoenix II is a unisex GORE-TEX snow mitten with 265g Thinsulate insulation on the back of the hand, 125g on the palm, and a full goat skin leather palm. A zipped heat pocket, ergonomic Velcro cuff, wrist leash and touch screen compatibility round out a mitten for anyone whose fingers go cold in gloves. Taupe, sizes M to 2XL.
Who it's for
Mittens keep your fingers together, sharing heat, which is why people who always get cold hands at the snow end up in a pair. The Phoenix II is for long, cold days at Thredbo, Perisher or Falls Creek: the first chair on a still July morning, a blizzard day at Mt Hotham, a back-country lap where you stop to transition in the wind. Skiers, snowboarders and anyone whose hands are the first thing to go.
- Skiing and snowboarding
- Cold-handed riders who suffer in gloves
- Snow play and winter travel
Waterproofing and breathability
A GORE-TEX waterproof breathable insert sits inside the shell, so melting snow on the chairlift stays outside while sweat vapour from a hard run can escape. The shell is a recycled polyester and spandex twill, and the full palm is goat skin leather for increased dexterity.
Fit and layering
The ergonomic Velcro cuff closes around the wrist. The wrist leash keeps the mitten with you when you pull it off on the lift to fix a goggle strap, and touch screen compatibility lets you answer a call without taking it off.
