Exposure Handlebar Mount 25.4mm to 35mm dia.
Description
Description
The Exposure Handlebar Mount is the quick release aluminium bracket that holds an Exposure handlebar light on your bars. The light's cleat clicks into the bracket and comes out again in a second, so the light goes inside with you and the bracket stays on the bike.
Who it's for
Anyone running an Exposure handlebar light who needs a second bracket for another bike, or a replacement for a lost or tired one. Fit one to the commuter and one to the mountain bike and a single Strada or Toro moves between them, from the morning ride to work to a Thursday night lap of the Gap Creek trails. Exposure lists the bracket for the Strada, Race, Toro, MaXx D and Six Pack, including the SYNC versions, and older Exposure lights that use the same cleat.
Fitting it to your bike
The clamp is sized for 35 mm bars. For 31.8 mm bars, Exposure's silicone shim wraps inside the clamp to take up the gap, and Exposure also makes a plastic shim set that brings the bracket down to 25.4 mm bars. Fit it close to the stem where the bar is round and clear of cables, and point the light slightly down at the road or trail ahead before you tighten it.
Lights it carries
The bracket takes Exposure's cleat-mounted handlebar lights straight away. Exposure's helmet lights, including the Sirius, Joystick, Axis, Diablo and Equinox, clip into the same bracket once you add Exposure's moulded clip, which is a neat way to run one light on the helmet and the bars on different rides. Keep helmet lights on top of the bar with the clip, rather than hanging underneath.
Looking after it
Rinse off mud and grit after a wet ride so the quick release action stays smooth, and check the clamp bolt now and then, especially after a rough descent. On carbon bars, tighten to the bar maker's torque limit.
