17 litres holds a rain shell, a warm layer, food for the day, a first aid kit and a head torch. Two soft flasks ride in the shoulder strap pouches, with more flask pouches outside the pack. The pack measures 48 x 26 x 18 cm, and Deuter recommend a 6-10 kg load.

How it carries

The LiteAir back pairs a lightweight skeleton frame structure with a flat, reinforced back panel that hugs your body, so the pack moves with you instead of bouncing. Wide, perforated vest-style shoulder straps, supple hip fins, stabiliser straps and a lightly elasticated 2-way sternum strap with a one-handed buckle spread the load between hips and shoulders.
