Duffel Pro Roller 90

The Deuter Duffel Pro Roller 90 is a big, tough wheeled duffel that also carries on your back. Roll it through the airport, then pull out the shoulder straps for the gravel road to the lodge. When the trip is over it folds down into itself and lives on a shelf instead of taking over the cupboard.

Who it's for

Anyone travelling with a lot of gear: a month in Nepal with trekking kit, a family ski trip to Falls Creek, or a dive or surf trip where the bags come back damp and sandy. Capacity and what fits

90 litres and 86 x 43 x 35 cm. That takes two weeks of clothes and shoes, or a sleeping bag, mat, boots and layers for a trek, with room left for souvenirs. The recommended load is 10-20 kg.

Wheels, chassis and carrying

Silent-glide wheels roll it quietly over airport floors and footpaths, and they are replaceable, so a cracked wheel does not end the bag's life. The extendable handle adjusts to your height, so tall travellers can pull it without stooping, and it stows away when you check the bag. When wheels are no use, on stairs, sand or a rough track, the stowable shoulder straps come out and the Contact back padding carries it like a backpack. An adjustable carry strap and grab handles cover the short lifts.

Organisation inside

A U-shaped front zip opens the whole main compartment like a suitcase, so you can see and reach everything. A zipped mesh compartment inside keeps toiletries and chargers together, a zipped side pocket holds what you need on the way, and a key clip keeps keys from going missing. A padlock anchor point locks the zips for check-in.

Durability and weight

The body is 600D recycled polyester with a TPU coating, which makes it water repellent and easy to wipe down after a muddy roadside or a wet tarmac. It weighs 2110 g with wheels and handle, and it is bluepass and Green Button certified, with no intentionally added PFAS in the finish.
