What you keep

Everything that decides whether a group ride works: Dynamic Mesh Communication for up to 31 riders, Sound by JBL through 40 mm speakers, IP67 waterproofing and Natural Voice operation. The Neo is the Edge's technology on a smaller bill.

Mesh, not pairing

The group builds itself and repairs itself. A rider who drops behind is re-joined without anybody stopping, which is the thing Bluetooth-only intercoms cannot do.

Hands stay on the bars

Natural Voice operation means you talk to it rather than reach for it. No wake word to remember and no button to find through a glove.

Fitting it to your helmet

The Neo uses a clickable cradle rather than the magnetic Air Mount. It installs on any helmet at home, but the cradle is unique to the Neo - Edge and Bold cradle accessories will not fit it. Microphones and speakers, which do not attach to the cradle, are interchangeable.

Talking to other units and other brands

Cardo to Cardo, modern Dynamic Mesh units find each other and join the same mesh. Older Cardo Bluetooth units connect by standard pairing instead, and G and Q units need to be put into phone-pairing mode first. Other brands - Sena, Midland and the rest - connect too, but over universal Bluetooth: that rider is held as a one-to-one link, much like a phone connection, rather than joining the mesh. A mixed group works, it just does not self-heal the way an all-Cardo group does.

It works where your phone does not

The intercom needs no cellular coverage and no data. It is a direct radio link between units, so it keeps working in the places that matter - a valley, a range, anywhere the phone has dropped out.

FAQ's

Is this one headset or two?
One headset. If you need to talk to a regular riding partner, the Duo pack is two of these and works out cheaper than buying twice.

How is the Neo different from the Edge?
The Neo keeps the mesh, the JBL sound and the IP67 rating. The Edge adds the magnetic Air Mount and a longer warranty. If you are choosing on what the intercom does, they do the same job.

Is it waterproof?
IP67, which covers rain, snow and a hose. Leave it on the helmet.

Will it pair with a different brand of intercom?
Yes over Bluetooth, which is the common language between brands. Cardo's mesh features only work Cardo to Cardo, so a mixed group falls back to a standard Bluetooth connection.

Can I leave it on the helmet in the rain?
Yes - rated IP67, so rain and washdowns are fine. Bring the helmet indoors to charge and the unit will outlast the bike.

Will it connect to older Cardo units?
Yes. Modern Cardo units with Dynamic Mesh join each other on the mesh automatically. Older Cardo Bluetooth units connect by standard pairing instead, and G and Q units need to be put into phone-pairing mode before you start.

How long does it take to charge?
Twenty minutes on the charger gives about two hours of talk time, which covers the morning you forgot to plug it in.

Which app do I need?
Cardo Connect, on iOS or Android. It handles setup, settings and software updates, and the updates come over the air - no cable and no computer.

How hard is it to fit to my helmet?
It is a home fit on any helmet - no tools beyond what is in the box, no helmet modification, and nothing permanent. Most people have it on in well under half an hour.
