The Katadyn BeFree AC Silicone Mouthpiece is a pack of three replacement silicone mouthpieces for the BeFree AC soft flask water filter. The Katadyn BeFree AC Silicone Mouthpiece fits the BeFree AC 1.0 L black, 1.0 L slate blue and 0.5 L slate blue, sits on the drink nozzle under the flip cap, and pulls off easily for cleaning or replacement.

Drinking and refilling

The mouthpiece is the part your lips touch every time you drink, and Katadyn warn against letting untreated water contaminate the output parts, the drink nozzle and filter output. When you refill from a creek, keep the nozzle and mouthpiece out of the untreated water, and wipe the outside of the flask before drinking. Katadyn say the silicone mouthpiece can be easily removed to clean or replace.

Cleaning and mould

Pull the mouthpiece off to clean it rather than scrubbing around it on the nozzle. When you disinfect the BeFree after a trip, give the mouthpiece the same treatment, then let every part air dry completely before you put it back together. Swap in a fresh one if it splits, stays discoloured or no longer seats firmly.
