The Orca Athlex Flow V2 Women's is a full-sleeve, back-zip triathlon wetsuit in Yamamoto neoprene that balances stretch against lift. Aerodome buoyancy panels in the lower body hold your hips and legs up, while highly elastic shoulders, arms and back keep the stroke free. Fabric gloves and a mesh backpack come in the box.
The Athlex Flow V2 is a Yamamoto neoprene women's triathlon wetsuit that balances stretch against lift: highly elastic panels through the upper torso and shoulders so the stroke stays free, with the buoyancy built into the legs.
Who it's for
Triathletes who want help holding their legs up without giving away a free shoulder. Orca pitch the Flow as their most balanced wetsuit.
Take this one if you want a buoyant lower body with a flexible upper body. If your legs drag and you want as much lifting as possible, the Athlex Float V2, Orca's high-buoyancy version, is the better buy.
Buoyancy and flexibility
The priority up top is a shoulder that moves with your catch and recovery instead of pulling against it. Down low, the job is lift.
- Lower body: Aerodome buoyancy panels, giving about 30% more buoyancy than a conventional suit, so your hips and legs ride higher.
- Shoulders, arms and back: highly elastic Yamamoto neoprene, with no printed graphics on the shoulders to stiffen them.
- Lining: InfinitySkin 2, a stretch nylon lining.
- Outer surface: SCS (Super Composite Skin) coating to cut drag.
- Neck and zip: laser-cut neck and a YKK 10 back zip.
- Transition: HydroLite treatment helps the suit come off quickly.
- Material: 95% neoprene, 5% polyamide.
Getting the size right
This is the decision that makes or breaks a wetsuit, so take your time over it. The Athlex Flow V2 Women's is cut on Orca's women's pattern, and we stock it in XS, S, M, L and XL, plus XST and ST.
Orca's fitting guide is the best test of the fit. Work the suit high into the crotch and onto both hips, sit each sleeve cuff above the wrist bone and settle the sleeve snugly into the armpit, then check you still have the range of motion to swim. Fold the suit in half like a pair of trousers to start, slip a plastic bag over each foot as it goes through, and smooth the neoprene up with your fingertips, never your nails: a fingernail can cut neoprene. The fabric gloves in the box are there for exactly that job.
