Description
Description
The Arva Access TS Shovel is a telescopic avalanche shovel for backcountry and sidecountry riders. Its 24 x 24 cm aluminium blade is 2.0 mm thick and joins an oval aluminium shaft with Arva's PIN LOCK. The shaft extends the shovel from 57 cm to 72 cm and collapses to 35 cm for the pack.
Who it's for
Arva build the Access TS for riders who head into the backcountry and sidecountry regularly and want a shovel that packs small and extends when it is time to dig. It is the telescopic sibling of the fixed-shaft Arva Access, with the same reinforced 2.0 mm blade.
Using it under pressure
- PIN LOCK assembly: the blade locks onto the shaft quickly and easily, so the shovel goes together fast.
- Telescopic oval shaft: run it short at 57 cm or pull it out to its full 72 cm.
- T-grip handle: an ergonomic T-grip base makes the handle easy to hold.
Blade and shaft
- Blade: aluminium, 24 cm long by 24 cm wide, 2.0 mm thick and reinforced for rigidity.
- Shaft: oval aluminium, telescopic, 35 cm long when collapsed.
- Overall length: 57 cm collapsed, 72 cm fully extended.
Arva pair the Access TS with their EVO BT transceiver and Spark 240 probe in the Safety Pack EVO BT, so if you are building a kit from scratch, that trio is the brand's own combination.
