Description
The Mammut Togir 2.0 3 Slide Women is an all-round climbing harness cut for women: light enough to forget about on a long multipitch day, with the rack space to take on ice and alpine routes as well. It weighs 367 g, and the leg loops adjust, so it fits as well over thermals on a winter trip as it does over shorts at the summer crag.
Certification and strength
- CE EN 12277 Type C
- UIAA Safety Label
The UIAA Safety Label means samples of this harness have been tested by an accredited, independent laboratory against the UIAA's standards. The Togir is personal protective equipment, so read the user manual that comes with it before you tie in.
What it is for
Mammut designed the Togir as an all-rounder, and it earns top marks for gym, sport and multipitch climbing alike. That makes it the harness for the climber who does a bit of everything: Thursday nights at the gym, a weekend clipping bolts at Nowra, and the long days on multipitch rock in the Blue Mountains or the Grampians. Two ice clipper slots mean it comes along on a winter trip across the ditch too.
The women's fit is the reason to choose this one. Wider leg loops and a reshaped hip belt sit where they should on a female frame, rather than riding up or gaping at the back. Mammut's split webbing divides into two strands through the waist belt and leg loops to spread your weight, which you feel after an hour hanging at a belay.
Weight
The Togir 2.0 3 Slide Women weighs 367 g. Mammut saved the grams where they cost you nothing: only the two front gear loops are stiffened, and the two rear loops are soft.
Sizing
Measure your waist over the layers you climb in, then the top of your thigh. We stock three sizes:
- XS: waist 61–71 cm, leg 49–57 cm
- M: waist 73–85 cm, leg 56–64 cm
- L: waist 80–92 cm, leg 60–70 cm
Because the leg loops adjust, choose on your waist measurement first.
Handling
Four gear loops carry a full trad or multipitch rack. The stiff front pair hold their shape so quickdraws and cams clip on and off cleanly; the soft rear pair take the gear you reach for less often. Two slots take ice clippers for screws, a haul loop at the back trails a second rope, and there is a loop for your chalk bag. Slide-Bloc buckles on the leg loops and a metal buckle on the waist belt make adjusting simple, and drop-seat buckles at the back let you deal with a toilet stop without taking the harness off.
Inspection
A wear indicator is built into the tie-in loop: when red fabric starts to show through, the harness is due for replacement. That loop is also shielded by a hard plastic guard where the rope rubs. Before each session, check the webbing for cuts and fuzzing and make sure every buckle holds without slipping.
